Who is stronger Law or Eustass Kid?

Law and Kid are two of the most powerful Supernovas in One Piece. They both have incredibly strong Devil Fruit abilities and high bounties. Many fans debate who is stronger between the two. There are good arguments on both sides. In this article, we will analyze their powers, fighting styles, feats, portrayal and other factors to determine who is stronger.

Devil Fruit Abilities

Law possesses the Ope Ope no Mi, which allows him to create a spherical territory of light blue aura. In this territory, he can manipulate anything however he wishes, such as levitating objects or switching people’s “hearts”. With his ability, he can dismember people’s bodies and attach separated parts in any manner he sees fit. He can also use his ability to grant eternal youth in exchange for his life.

Kid has the Jiki Jiki no Mi, which allows him to manipulate magnetic forces. He can repel and attract metal objects as well as levitate them. By using this power on metal objects, he can launch devastating attacks against his opponents. Kid can also use this ability to assemble metal scraps into massive metallic arms, thereby granting him tremendous strength and defense.

Both Devil Fruits are incredibly versatile and overpowered in their own right. Law’s Ope Ope no Mi grants him near limitless surgical applications to disassemble opponents. Kid’s magnetism allows him to crush enemies with huge devastating attacks. It’s hard to say which Devil Fruit is stronger overall.

Fighting Style

Law relies on his Devil Fruit for combat. He uses a sword, but his main fighting style revolves around his Ope Ope no Mi abilities. Law likes to stay at mid to long range and tactically pick apart his opponents by cutting them up into pieces. He then capitalizes on their dismembered state for lethal blows.

Kid prefers direct confrontation with his Devil Fruit powers. He overwhelms opponents with destructive magnetic attacks at close range. Kid also supplements his Devil Fruit with powerful physical attacks using his metal arms. His fighting style is very offensive-oriented.

Law has greater finesse and tactical prowess. Kid has more raw power and brute force. Overall, Law likely has the edge when it comes to fighting style versatility.

Feats

Some of Law’s best feats include:

– Defeating Vergo who had strong Armament Haki and was one of Doflamingo’s top officers. This showed Law’s ability to cut through strong Haki users.

– Withstanding Doflamingo’s Overheat string attack. This demonstrated his endurance against a top Warlord.

– Helping defeat Doflamingo alongside Luffy. Doflamingo was a very powerful Warlord.

– Surviving clashes with Big Mom’s top commander Katakuri. Katakuri’s power was said to be equal to or greater than some Sweet Generals.

– Damaging Big Mom’s shoulder. Big Mom is a Yonko with immense durability.

Some of Kid’s best feats:

– Surviving a beating from the Red Hair Pirates. Shanks’ crew is very powerful.

– Defeating the Harahettania, a Pacifista modified by Vegapunk. Pacifistas have incredible durability.

– Surviving attacks from the Yonko Big Mom. Withstanding attacks from a Yonko is impressive.

– Helping significantly damage Big Mom’s body. Big Mom is one of the most durable characters in the series.

– Clashing with Big Mom’sSweet Commander Killer. Killer is a powerful SMILE user.

Overall, Law likely has the edge in terms of feats. He has defeated or damaged some more impressive characters compared to Kid.

Bounties

As of the Wano Country arc, Law’s bounty stands at 3,000,000,000 berries. Meanwhile, Kid has a bounty of 4,200,000,000 berries.

Kid’s significantly higher bounty implies he is seen as the greater threat by the World Government and Marines. However, bounties don’t necessarily equate to combat strength. Law’s tactical abilities and surgical skills make him very dangerous as well, even if Kid has greater destructive capacity.

Portrayal

From a portrayal standpoint, Law and Kid are presented as rivals of similar strength. They both joined forces with Luffy against the Yonko during the Wano Country arc, indicating they are close power-wise. Law and Kid also both managed to damage Big Mom, proving they can hang with a Yonko.

Oda seems to hype up both Law and Kid as the next generation of powerful pirates. If one was clearly superior to the other, their rivalry dynamic wouldn’t work as well narratively.

That said, Law has received more prominent focus and backstory during the Dressrosa and Punk Hazard arcs. He also has a closer relationship with Luffy. This may give Law a slight edge portrayal-wise.

Haki Abilities

Both Law and Kid possess Haoshoku Haki, which only the strongest warriors have. This indicates their incredible combat strength.

For Armament and Observation Haki, Law likely has the advantage. His Haki was strong enough to cut through Vergo’s full-body Armament Haki. Law was also able to react to Doflamingo’s string attacks, indicating proficient Observation Haki.

Kid hasn’t shown the same mastery of Haki techniques. He seems to rely more heavily on his Devil Fruit. While Kid’s Haki shouldn’t be underestimated, Law appears to have greater skill at using it in combat.

Intelligence

Law has demonstrated slightly superior intellect during his battles. His cunning and analytical nature allows him to outmaneuver opponents. For example, Law fooled Doflamingo by making him stab Law’s double while the real Law was hidden.

Kid is smart as well, but he tends to favor bold direct attacks rather than tactical play. Law’s intelligence gives him an edge over Kid here.

Physical Strength

It’s clear Kid has greater pure physical strength, especially when using his metal arms and magnetism. He relies more on devastating physical blows while Law focuses on dissection and precision.

Stamina

Both Law and Kid have impressive stamina and endurance. They managed to fight Big Mom for an extended period using their Devil Fruits, which consume a lot of energy.

Still, Kid likely has a bit more physical tenacity given his fighting style. Law’s stamina is substantial, but Kid may outlast him in longer battles.

Conclusion

Law and Kid are extremely closely matched in terms of overall power. They have the same haoshoku Haki and caused significant damage to Big Mom.

However, after looking at all the factors, Law appears to have a slight edge in combat ability. His Ope Ope no Mi gives him hax surgical abilities and his Haki mastery surpasses Kid’s. Law has also shown more impressive feats against the likes of Doflamingo and Vergo. His intelligence also gives him an advantage when fighting strategically.

Of course, Kid’s tremendous physical strength and larger arsenal of magnetic attacks is not to be underestimated. If Kid lands crushing blows amplified by his Devil Fruit, he could certainly defeat Law.

But all things considered, Law’s surgical skills, Haki capabilities, intellect and feats give him the closest thing to an advantage against Kid in a one on one fight. It would likely be an incredibly close battle, but Law is arguably the more well-rounded fighter when all their abilities are compared.

Verdict

After comparing all aspects, Trafalgar Law has a slight advantage over Eustass Kid when it comes to overall combat capabilities. It would certainly be an extreme diff fight, but Law’s surgical Devil Fruit powers, superior Haki skills, intellect and portrayal put him a cut above Kid. However, Kid’s tremendous physical strength and endurance would make him an incredibly formidable opponent for Law.
