Is Kong’s AXE made of Godzilla?

Godzilla and King Kong are two iconic giant movie monsters that have battled it out on the big screen many times. In the recent film Godzilla vs. Kong, their epic rivalry continues as the two titans clash in a no-holds-barred fight. One of Kong’s main weapons in the battle is his massive stone axe, which he uses to land some devastating blows against his reptilian foe. This raises an interesting question – what exactly is Kong’s mighty axe made out of? Could it possibly contain remnants of a vanquished Godzilla?

The Composition of Kong’s Axe

According to the official novelization of Godzilla vs. Kong, Kong’s axe is made out of a rare mineral called Hollow Earth ore. This material is only found deep within the core of the Hollow Earth, the subterranean realm inhabited by Kong’s ancestor species. The novel describes the axe head as being made of “heavy gray Hollow Earth ore” and the handle formed from the “limb of a great antediluvian tree”.

So canonically, Kong’s axe is crafted from materials found exclusively in the Hollow Earth. There is no evidence to suggest any biological material from Godzilla was used in its construction. The dense, durable ore provided the necessary weight and strength, while the hardened tree limb gave the handle stability and leverage for wielding the heavy axe head.

Could Godzilla’s Remains Have Ended Up in Hollow Earth?

While Kong’s axe isn’t literally made out of a Godzilla body part, some may wonder if Godzilla’s remains could have somehow ended up deposited in Hollow Earth, indirectly becoming part of Kong’s weapon.

This seems highly unlikely for a few reasons:

Godzilla is a Surface Dweller

Godzilla and his Titan ancestors have always been surface-dwelling creatures. There are no clues in the Monsterverse lore indicating Godzilla or his kin ever inhabited Hollow Earth. So there is no clear way for Godzilla’s organic matter to get transported down there.

Lack of Deceased Godzillas

In the Monsterverse timeline, the only confirmed Godzilla death was the original “Godzilla Filius” killed by the Oxygen Destroyer in 1954. Every other on-screen Godzilla is either this original one resurrected or his offspring. There is no evidence of other dead Godzillas whose remains could have somehow ended up in Hollow Earth.

Godzilla Remains Would Have Decomposed

Even if a previous Godzilla did die and get transferred to Hollow Earth, its body likely would have completely decomposed long before Kong could harvest the bones or tissue to craft his axe. Titan corpses seem to decompose much like any other organic matter. So ancient Godzilla bio-matter would be long gone.

The Axe is Made of Solid Ore

Descriptions of Kong’s axe specifically call out it is forged from dense mineral ore. There is no hint of it being an amalgamation of bones or other anatomical structures. This reinforces the wholly inorganic origins of the material used to construct the weapon.

Kong’s Axe as a Symbol

Looking at Kong’s mighty axe from a symbolic perspective also weakens the theory of it somehow containing Godzilla remains. The axe represents:

Kong’s Domain

The axe is made purely from elements of Hollow Earth, Kong’s home realm that he rules over. It symbolizes this domain and by wielding the axe, Kong exerts his dominion.

Kong’s Power

The sheer scale and weight of the axe reflect Kong’s own prodigious size and strength. It acts as an extension of his own power and ferocity.

Kong’s Heritage

The ancient tree used for the handle can be seen as a tribute to Kong’s venerable Titan lineage stretching back through history. So the axe links Kong to his ancestors.

Movie Monster Rivalry

On a meta level, the axe symbolizes Kong as the underdog going up against the more powerful Godzilla. It evens the odds and makes their match-up more dramatic. But it remains just a symbolic weapon rather than having any actual biological connection.

Conclusion

Based on all available evidence from the official Monsterverse continuity and symbolic analysis, there is nothing to substantiate the theory that Kong’s mighty battle axe contains actual physical remnants of a vanquished Godzilla. The axe was constructed using indigenous Hollow Earth ore and tree elements to create a weapon worthy of a Titan. While it allowed Kong to go toe-to-toe with his rival Godzilla, it did not require any literal pieces of the King of the Monsters itself. Their epic clash relies on deep movie monster symbolism and lore rather than pseudo-cannibalism. So rest assured, Godzilla’s essence isn’t trapped in an oversized piece of Kong’s primitive cutlery!
