This delightful dessert requires only a minimal amount of preparation time, with a prep time of just 10 minutes, followed by a cooking time of 35 minutes, making the total time spent in the kitchen a manageable 45 minutes. The galette yields eight servings, making it an excellent choice for gatherings and get-togethers.

Instructions

To create this stunning pie, start by preheating your oven to a toasty 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Next, line a cookie sheet with parchment paper to ensure easy cleanup. Roll out the dough to a circular shape measuring approximately 12 inches in diameter. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the cranberries, raspberries, orange zest, granulated sugar and salt. Pour this sweet and tangy mixture into the center of the dough, leaving about 1.5 inches of crust around the edges. Fold the dough up and over the filling, pinching folds or pleats as you go to create a decorative border. Be sure to leave the top of the cranberry mixture exposed. Brush the exposed pie crust with cream for an added layer of flavor. Once the pie is assembled, place it on the prepared cookie sheet. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Allow the pie to cool on the cookie sheet for 20 to 30 minutes before transferring it to a serving dish.
